Two months prior to his 25th birthday Chris Utz from Pasadena, MD, was involved in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Prior to his accident, Chris was very active in biking, boating, and other water sports and led a busy life running his own mobile marine business. Chris’ medical bills forced him to sell everything including his business to cover the costs. Chris lives with his 99 year old Great Aunt. Since his accident, Chris has received physical therapy at Kernan Hospital, Kennedy Krieger and Project Walk in Carlsbad. In September, 2012 he was awarded a Top End Force hand cycle thru IM Able Foundation and has participated in 3 marathons. Chris is currently working 1 hour a week at Brook’s Transportation Service, Inc. trouble shooting bus engines and spends a lot of time with his 2 dogs Rusty and Titan.
